Women, Infants & Children (WIC) provides federal grants to states for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for pregnant women and postpartum women, infants and children up to the age of five. The program seeks to improve the health of low- and moderate-income families by providing access to nutritious foods and helping develop healthy habits. The program is limited to families with incomes of up to 185 percent of the federal poverty level, which is adjusted annually based on the cost of living. Families must also meet other eligibility guidelines to participate.

Dads, Foster Parents, and other Legal Guardians can participate in the WIC program with their WIC eligible infants and children.
