The Pulaski County Health Center environmental section now has its water lab open to private well owners. You can come by our office in  Waynesville and pick up a water testing kit. The kit contains a sterile 100 ml sample bottle, water sample collection instructions, and the PCHC Private Drinking Water Analysis form.  We will run the sample you bring in or we can collect the water sample for you. In most cases we will be able to get your  results back to you within 24 hrs. Tests ran will check for Total Coliform and E. Coli.

Overall the services provided cover numerous areas of Environmental Public Health and Sanitation issues. Our goal in the Environmental Public Health section is to Prevent, Promote and Protect Public Health within Pulaski County.

Fees

A sample collected by individual and ran by PCHC: $20
A sample collected by PCHC anywhere else: $50 + 65¢ a mile

The Pulaski County Health Center Environmental Public Health Specialist (EPHS) Staff is available to answer questions regarding collection techniques, interpreting water results and proper procedures for disinfecting contaminated wells when needed. The Pulaski County Health Center environmental section does not inspect wells.
