WATER TESTING

The Pulaski County Health Department environmental section provides private water sample test kits for use by private well owners. The kit contains a sterile 100 ml sample bottle, water sample collection instructions, and a mailing label addressed to the State Public Health Laboratory located in Jefferson City.

The State Lab will analyze the water sample for total coliform and E–Coli bacteria, and the results will be mailed to the submitting party. There will be a $10.00 fee assessed by the lab for the test.

Overall the services provided cover numerous areas of Environmental Public Health and Sanitation issues. Our goal in the Environmental Public Health section is to Prevent, Promote and Protect Public Health within Pulaski County.

The Pulaski County Health Department Environmental Public Health Specialist (EPHS) Staff is available to answer questions regarding collection techniques, interpreting water results and proper procedures for disinfecting contaminated wells when needed.

The Pulaski County Health Department environmental section does not inspect wells or collect water samples for loan purposes. A list of state licensed inspectors is listed below.
